Wine symbolizes a completed and perfected human life. It is a symbol of friendship, love, life and strength. It starts off as an inferior product (grape juice = childhood, immaturity) but must go through fermentation (struggle = challenge of evil) and only then we get the superior product; Wine (wine=Maturity, Wisdom) Is this a reason that people consume it on the various occasions where they have passed a certain fermentation process like marriage ?

शब्द हे शस्त्र, अतिशय धारदार अणुकुचीदार असे कधी नेमकेपणाने वर्मावर बोट ठेवणारे तर कधी बोथट होऊन हळुवार फुंकर घालणारे, कधी मनाला कधी न मिटणारे चरे पाडणारे तर कधी आनंदाचे कढत कढत अश्रु काढणारे, कधी आदळणारे तर कधी रिझवणारे…कधी गडगडणारे तर कधी कडाडणारे ,कधी न व्यक्त होताही खूप काही बोलून जाणारे तर कधी बरसूनहि रिते न होणारे , कधी नको तेंव्हा पूर आणणारे तर कधी ऐनवेळी गोठणारे तर कधी शब्दांनाही निशब्द करणारे आणि निशब्दाला स्पर्शाची भाषा शिकवणारे….शिल्पा

vibgyor अर्थात सप्तरंग

रंगांचे वेड मला लहानपणापासूनच होते, रंगांशी खेळत राहणे, काहीही वेडेवाकडे काढत राहणे मला आवडे. मोर काढून त्यात रंग भरणे हा माझा फावल्या वेळातील आवडता उद्योग होता तेंव्हा , इतके कि कित्येकदा आमची रांगोळी भरपूर रंग भरलेल्या पिसारा फुलवलेल्या सुंदर मोराचीच किंवा फार फार तर रंग-बिरंगी फुलपाखराची असायची, बहुदा त्या मोराचे पाय दिसत नसत तेंव्हा.…मन अगदी फुलपाखरासारखेच स्वच्छंदी होते बहुदा. त्यावेळच्या कल्पना त्या वयाला अनुसरूनच असाव्यात. त्यावेळेस फक्त bright colours आवडत, दिसत. तांबड्या , हिरव्या रंगांपलीकडे जग दिसतच नव्हते. कोणत्याही dull कलर चा तर दुरदुरपर्यंत पण संबंध नव्हता.

जसे जसे वय वाढत गेले तसे मात्र प्रत्येक कलरचा शिरकाव होऊ लागला आयुष्यात . जसे रंग दिसत गेले तसे आपोआपच आपलेसे करत गेले , त्यांना तसे आपलेसे करण्याशिवाय पर्यायच नव्हता. रंगांची पुर्णपणे ओळखही नव्हती तेंव्हा. आजूबाजूला अचानक दिसणारे नवनवीन, हिरवे पिवळे निळे अपरिचित रंग आणि त्यांच्या असंख्य छटा मनाचा गोंधळ उडवून टाकत होते. काही तर वर-वरून एकसारखे दिसत मात्र आतून एकदमच अजब त्यांना ओळखणे handle करणे जड जात होते. हि मोठी जोखीमच होती.

आता काही ठोकताळे बांधणे, अभ्यास करणे आणि थोड्या तरी झेपेल तश्या अभ्यास पूर्ण steps घेणे जरुरी होते. कालांतराने ते थोडे फार जमू लागले. टप्प्या टप्प्याने मजल गाठत आता गोष्टी थोड्या आवाक्यात आल्या होत्या. मग हळहळू प्रत्येक रंगांची एक एक छटा, त्याची पोत आणि गुणधर्म नव्याने समजून घेण्याचा प्रयास करू लागले. हे सगळे जवळून बघणे हा एक अनुभव नवीन होता खरा पण आता हे सगळेच उमगू लागले होते, त्यांचे नवीन अर्थ आता उलगडू लागले होते पण हे सगळे वाटते तितके सरळ सोपे चुटकीसरशी जमणारे नव्हते. प्रत्येक रंगांची quality, गहराई , consistency ओळखत त्यांना चुचकारत आपलेसे करणे भाग होते . एकत्र झालेल्या प्रत्येक रंगालाही मग हळुवार वेगळे करत त्याचे निकष ठरवत गेले, त्यात बराच काळ गेला.

आज हि पुरती ओळख पटली आहे असे म्हणणे नक्कीच योग्य ठरणार नाही ओळख पुरेशी पटलेली नाहीच पण आता अगदी सैरभैर अवस्था तरी होत नाही. अजूनही कधी मधी ग्रे कलर कॅनव्हास वर वाजवीपेक्षा अंमळ जास्तच भरकटतो, त्यावर हमखास असा रामबाण उपाय नसतोच पण फार काळ त्याला जवळ राहू देणे इष्ट नाही हे जाणते आणि त्याला कधी कसेबसे कधी प्रयत्नपूर्वक बाहेर काढत जाते. आणि बाकी सप्तरंगाना जवळ करत … त्यातही माझ्या आवडीच्या आनंदाची उधळण करणाऱ्या केशरी रंगाला , समतोल साधणाऱ्या निळ्या रंगाला , सर्वाना सामावून घेऊन पुढे जाऊ पाहणाऱ्या गर्द हिरव्या रंगाला, स्वतंत्र निश्चयी वृत्तीच्या काळ्या कुळकुळीत रंगाला आणि आसपास सतत possitive energy पसरवत प्रेरणा देणाऱ्या लाल भडक रंगाला जास्त प्राधान्य देत राहते .

अर्थात आजही माझ्या प्रत्येक art मध्ये मला ग्रे ची ती छटा सतत दिसतेच , आणि त्याचे तसे अस्तित्व मी मान्यच केले आहे, तो कलर सगळा स्मृतीपट माझ्यासमोर उलगडवतो. शिखराकडे बघताना पायथ्यालाही स्मरण्याची जाणीव आणि जगण्याची प्रेरणा तो ग्रे रंग पदोपदी देत असतो. कोणत्या रंगांशी किती जवळीक साधायची याचे तो सतत भान करून देतो आणि मला सतत काहीतरी चांगले करण्यासाठी उद्युक्तहि ठेवतो . त्याच्याशिवाय माझे सगळे आवडते रंगही अधुरे आहेत म्हणूनच माझ्या सप्तरंगात त्या करड्या रंगालाही तितकेच महत्वाचे स्थान आहे.

शेवटी त्या इंद्रधनुष्याचे सप्तरंग त्या काळ्या ढगातुनच डोकावतात आणि सूर्यप्रकाशाबरोबरच रंगांची चौफेर उधळण दाही दिशांना करतात हे विसरून कसे चालेल.

मी का लिहिते आहे

मी का लिहिते आहे कुठपर्यंत लिहिणार , कधी थांबणार , का आणि कोणत्या विषयावर लिहिणार याचे कोणतेही ठोस उत्तर माझ्याकडे नाही . हि सुरवात करताना मी सुद्धा स्वताला खूप सगळे प्रश्न विचारते आहे आणि प्रामाणिकपणे उत्तर देते आहे.

सांगायचेच झाले तर विशेष असे काही नाही पण मनातले विचार खरडायला रोजनिशी (diary) ची पाने अपुरी पडत होती म्हणून , जे काही कधी-मधी मनात डोकावते सूत्रबद्धपणे मांडता यावे म्हणून किंवा मांडता येते का ते पहावे म्हणून, कधीतरी लिहिलेले कुठेतरी उतारवयात परत निवान्तपणे वाचताना आपला प्रवास, आठवणी तजेलदार होऊन डोळ्यासमोर तरळव्यात म्हणून , स्वताला थोडेसे चाचपून बघावे आणि स्वतापुरते जगताना आजूबाजूला घडणाऱ्या गोष्टींचा आपल्याला काही विचारपूर्वक निकष लावता येतो का हे बघावे म्हणून आणि मग माणुस म्हणून आधी आपण स्वत:ला तरी ओळखावे म्हणून, माझा स्वतःशी सुरु असलेला संवाद आणि संघर्ष मला तरी उलगडतो आहे का हे बघावे म्हणून , फावल्या वेळेचा थोडा चांगला वापर म्हणून , इंग्रजी-डच वाचताना त्याचे translation आपसूकच मराठीत होते म्हणून आणि ते मराठीतूनच जास्त कळते म्हणुन , व्यक्त करायला हे हक्काचे ठिकाण असू शकते म्हणून , कुठेही काहीही वाचले बघितले कि ते कधी मनाला भिडते कधी टोचते आणि मग जे विचार येतात ते स्वताला तरी नेमक्या शब्दात सांगावेत किंवा सांगता येतात का ते बघावे म्हणून , कधी मन फारच संवेदनशील, कधी हळवे तर कधी कठोर , कोरडे बनते त्याचे उगमस्थान शोधावे म्हणून आणि जमलेच तर वाटलेले, जाणवलेले आणि खरडलेले सगळे काही कधीतरी लोकांपर्यंत पोहोचवण्याची हिम्मत करता यावी म्हणून आणि त्यानिमित्याने बाकी मंडळींचे लिखाण, कलाकुसर , प्रतिक्रिया वगैरे बघण्याचा समजून घेण्याचा योग येऊ शकतो म्हणून , माझ्या पेन्टिंग मधील , कवितेतील आणि माझ्या प्रत्येक art मधील किंवा मागची ' मी ' आपल्यात जे काही थोडे फार चांगले आहे ते माझ्यापर्यंत आणि लोकांपर्यंत पोहोचावे म्हणून, लोकांच्या गर्दीत पण कधी फार एकटे एकाकी वाटते म्हणून , आयुष्य क्षणभंगुर आहे आता नाही तर कधीच नाही हे जाणवतेय म्हणून कि स्वताच निर्माण केलेल्या कोषातून बाहेर पडता येते का ते बघावे म्हणून , हा खटाटोप, असे म्हणावे का ? 

बरेच काही सांगता येईल किंवा कदाचित काहीच मांडता येणार नाही . मलाच समजत नाहीये मला नक्की काय म्हणायचे आहे ते आणि जे म्हणते  आहे ते तरी मला तसेच म्हणायचे होते का ते , मला तरी ते तसेच अभिप्रेत आहे का ते !

त्यामुळे, कसे आणि कितपत जमेल ते या क्षणी नक्की सांगता येणार नाही. काहीही, कसेही जसे जमेल तसे लिहेन, विषयाचे बंधन नसलेले ,कधी अगदी वरवरचे तर कधी मनाच्या आत खोलवर दडलेले…. कधी वाचण्याजोगे तर कधी कागदाचा बोळा किंवा फार फार तर कागदाची नाव करण्याजोगे….बुडण्याआधी काही काळ तरी तरंगेल पाण्यावर...

Welcoming Elephants

In Indian mythology Elephant is one of the significant animal. In Sankrit it is called Gaja and it depicts number of positive attributes, including abundance, fertility and richness; boldness and strength; and wisdom and royalty. It has been said that Lord Shiva unknowingly killed Ganesha, who was guarding at door and later lord Shiva had to replace Ganesha's head with Elephant as he could not find the original skull. 

In hinduisum, Lord Ganesha is the God of Good Luck and Auspiciousness and is the Dispeller of problems and obstacles. He is also worshipped as the God of wisdom, wealth, health, celibacy, fertility and happiness.

30 Paintings in 30 days:

A Begining and end of each year always bring a feeling of renewed hope, a desire to 

change the things and a time to let go, time to chill with friends and family and to cherish the great moments of the year that just passed and time to make some future plans to make coming year successful !

For year 2015 I was also looking for something different to begin with and then this amazing opportunity blossomed through http://30paintingsin30days.weebly.com/

My goal for 2015 is to make time to paint every day, so starting a new year with this new exciting challenge. I am nervous, excited as well as trilled as I never did it before. Some of my artist friends are doing this successfully and I was also thinking to do it since long but since I am mostly in Realism, it is quite hard for me to complete one painting in day due to lots of details in the painting as well as due to limited time I have !! So to make it successful I have to change my original style a bit but surely it will give me more opportunity to paint and enjoy the various subjects !

I have several themes in mind but for the time being I will just go with the flow...
