Chinese Lantern, Oil on Linnen , 50 x 70 cm

Chinese Lantern, Oil on Linnen , 50 x 70 cm

#painting #oilpainting #stillife #art #kunst #artist #art #shilpasart #chineselantern #stilleven #kunstnaar

That day I was alone roaming around in the city, passing by the colourful flower market of Muntplein. Suddenly I noticed Several Chinese Lantern which were hanging there in the flower shop, creating a beautiful orange roof. I could not stop myself from buying it impulsively. It was a difficult task to keep these branches safe in the public transport. As soon as I reached home I kept these babies in the most beautiful vase I have.  For quite a long time these branches keep decorating our house, sitting quietly in the Vase and taking my attention every now and then.

One day in a very dull, dark and rainy day, when all the options of going out were of no use, these delicate orange buds of Chinese Lantern tried their luck to grab my attention. So I thought to work on my photography skills. That dull cloudy day was lucky enough to create an atmosphere and giving results of light and shadows. To take a bright photo I just used one blue scarf which was lying there since several days. As I always find Glass tempting I just used the petty dish which we use to lit the 'Diya' to our god. Since our god is very adjustable he did not utter a word when we use his own property. All the set-up, my macro lens and camera was ready to take few photos.

I took photo from every angle and was satisfied with the result but when I took the photo of these Three delicate Chinese Lantern I did not know that I might use it later as a reference photo for my upcoming painting but the two bright colours Blue & Orange were successful enough to keep me engaged. I looked at the photo several times and I find it tempting. Suddenly one day, I decided to start this painting. I made come changes while making this painting but I tried to keep the main setup and colours same, as far as possible. I spent around 20-24 hours to work on this painting, Painting it in several layers, thinking about every minute details is a difficult part of every painting so I can not say that I am fully satisfied with the result.  Actually I am never satisfied with most of my work and that helps me to keep going untill I get what I want, which again I never get and so I never stop trying hard :)

Recently, I got an opportunity to display this work for around one month in a group exhibition in The Netherlands and it has been reviewed by many art-lovers.

Do tell me what you like / dislike in this work. I am ready to take your criticism in correct way, it will surely help me to improve further and develop my hobby.

Thanks & best regards,
Shilpa

Wine Glasses with Grapes

Wine symbolizes a completed and perfected human life. It is a symbol of friendship, love, life and strength. It starts off as an inferior product (grape juice = childhood, immaturity) but must go through fermentation (struggle = challenge of evil) and only then we get the superior product; Wine (wine=Maturity, Wisdom) Is this a reason that people consume it on the various occasions where they have passed a certain fermentation process like marriage ?

This painting was exhibited in Aalsmeer, Netherlands in 2014 for a period of 2 months and received very well reviews.

Sleeping Beauty

Life is fragile , what we have today will not last forever. Beauty, wealth and health everything will diminish with the time...what remains in our hand is to feel & share the love & light whenever we come across it! Is this tulips and the droplets conveying same thing ??

Playing marbles

40 x 80 cm
Oil on Canvas

Do you think Blue Marble balances the painting here?? What is your favorite colour...if it's here, let's see what the personality colour says about you:
Yellow- You are fun loving, cheerful modern, creative, good at networking but you are impulsive & critical, bitter and sharp-tongued. You can be stubborn, arrogant, pretentious and snobbish.
Blue- You are a balancing person. You are reliable and trustworthy, You are not at all impulsive or spontaneous. You take time to think, act and share your own feelings ! You are genuine and sincere, and you take your responsibilities seriously.
Red- You are extroverted and optimistic, courageous and confident but you are competitive, impulsive and aggressive. You often exhibit violent temper and may appear egoistic and overconfident .

(Disclaimer : All the characterstics mentioned above are just guidelines and a person can not be / should not judged according to it as it is not applicable for each and every person.)

If a country is to be corruption free and become a nation of beautiful minds, I strongly feel there are three key societal members who can make a difference. They are the father, the mother and the teacher.

30 Paintings in 30 days:
A Begining and end of each year always bring a feeling of renewed hope, a desire to
change the things and a time to let gotime to chill with friends and family and to cherish the great moments of the year that just passed and time to make some future plans to make coming year successful !

For year 2015 I was also looking for something different to begin with and then this amazing opportunity blossomed through http://30paintingsin30days.weebly.com/

My goal for 2015 is to make time to paint every day, so starting a new year with this new exciting challenge. I am nervous, excited as well as trilled as I never did it before. Some of my artist friends are doing this successfully and I was also thinking to do it since long but since I am mostly in Realism, it is quite hard for me to complete one painting in day due to lots of details in the painting as well as due to limited time I have !! So to make it successful I have to change my original style a bit but surely it will give me more opportunity to paint and enjoy the various subjects !

I have several themes in mind but for the time being I will just go with the flow...

Hope it will be a colourful treat to your eyes as well and you will also enjoy this new venture with me, Let's see how this crazy roller coster ride goes !!
You can see all the work of other artists on following blog:

Just Chill....

Just Chill....We, specially youths, use this word every now and then...it might be a sympathising comment to express compassion for their overwhelming budy to supress the anger or irritation and to advise him or her to ' Take it Easy'...but it is useful for all of us in this hectic life although it's not always easy !!

Here in my case, this is the probable name of my new painting started few months back ( ya you read it correctly..few months back :) ). Hope that my painting itself will tell you if the name suits or not. Actually this is a summer painting but I am making it in winter but the theme can be still suitable for Christmas..why?..let's not discuss it..you will realize by your own. This painting is also a part of the series of Paintings- Fruits.

Lots of fruits mins ultimately lots of details..specially in Realism and it is time consuming too! So let's see how it goes !

I aim to show you the progress of the work piece by piece and I will wait for your inputs. Do not hesitate to comment if you find something odd in it. We all can learn this way..and offcourse I would love to receive some alternative names for this painting from you as well.

You can comment either here on the blog or by sending e-mail to vibgyorfinearts@exto.nl

So Just Chill and enjoy the journey, here are first few photos:
